At the latest with the purchase of the Californian thermostat and smoke detector manufacturer Nest Labs by Google at the beginning of 2014, the actually already somewhat "dusty" topic of the smart home again moved more intensively into the focus of most home technology providers. The strategic danger is great that dominant digital platforms will establish themselves as "gatekeepers" between customers and hardware manufacturers, thus commoditizing the latter. The digital user experience and integration ability will become decisive purchase criteria for products around the house in the future.
tresmo supported Viessmann universally in the creation of an API-based, modular and high-performance Smart Home solution - starting with the data standardization of numerous different (and sometimes very old) types of heating systems, through the design of the IT architecture and the installation of a scalable IoT platform, to the embedded SDK and app backend, and took over the program management. Thanks to the solution, millions of heaters can be conveniently monitored and controlled in real time via smartphone app.
Networked heating systems offer enormously improved maintenance efficiency and create the basis for numerous new service opportunities and business model innovations for manufacturers.
